Trevi’s @ Omni Resort

The last 24 hours have been crazy. H has a conference in Orlando this weekend and I tagged along. For the first time ever, our flight from O’Hare was on time. We, however, were slightly delayed. I didn’t have a seating assignment, so when we got through security, I told H is was going to run ahead to get my seat assignment while he finished putting his belt and shoes on.

The plane was boarded when I arrived at the gate. I got my boarding pass and told them my husband was right behind me. They confirmed his name and yelled at me to get on the plane. I called H and told him to run as fast as he can. It wasn’t fast enough. They were closing the cabin door when he called me to tell me they wouldn’t let him on. So I went to Orlando and H got rebooked on a 6:00 flight this morning.

Friday’s dinner consisted of Cabernet and Swedish fish. Everything was closed and I only had a bag of swedish fish that I bought for my 17 mile run (I ran out of clif bloks). I will definitely not repeat that meal before race day. It took an hour to claim my bag that they made me check, so I didn’t go to sleep until after 1:00 am. I won’t repeat that either.

I tried to wake up early to run, but I turned off the three alarms I set and slept until 7. When I finally went out, I ran on the golf course, but apparently that is not allowed. I guess it makes the golfers feel bad when they see someone doing real exercise. I got chased off the course in a golf cart and tried to get my 17 miles by running the roads. (the hotel did show me it’s “jogging path,” a 1.4 mile out & back course. Ha!) I managed to get 13 in before giving up. All of the neighborhoods are gated around here and I ran out of places to run. So I headed down to the fitness center to run the last 4 on the treadmill.

I made a hair appointment at the spa at noon so I didn’t have time to get lunch. By the time I found somewhere to eat it was 1:15 and I was starving. It was a carb-heavy lunch at Trevi’s, an Italian restaurant. I ate outside and it was so nice! A small baguette was served with roasted garlic. Best idea ever!

I ordered the vegetable flatbread without cheese and a glass of Pinot grigio. It was delicious.

To soothe my caffeine headache (even though the coffee maker in the room makes 4 cups, they only give you coffee for one. I made coffee colored water instead of coffee this morning), I had a double espresso.
